The registered office of the Society of St. Michael the Archangel is Romei in Terni in Piazza Duomo n.11 at the Diocesan Curia.
The head office is in the premises of the rectory of the ancient church of St. John the Baptist in the historical village of Rocca San Zeno, at our disposal by the Parish of St. Zeno martyr of Terni.
The liturgical celebrations are held in the charming and beautiful medieval church of St. John the Baptist.
HISTORY
The date of foundation of the church is not known although it was probably built before the thirteenth century., Which would explain why from the small space between the façade and the wall circuit.Its interior contains frescoes of the first half of the fifteenth century, attributed to the school's Master of Narni and Bartholomew by Miranda.The original building had a single nave and the facade was a hut.
During the century.XVII, the church was altered: the facade was made advancing to the walls (a fact that led to the construction of additional walls in front of the new facade and moving the door of the country).Inside, on the left side of the church, were built also four chapels with vaulted ceilings, and walls are kept various frescoes of the first half of the century.XV, made with a style linked to that of Bartholomew of Miranda and the Master of Narni.The decorations are made of apse painting technique from the first half of the seventeenth century.Attached to it is the oratory of SS.Sacramento, with an adjoining old hospital.
