ABOUT U.S.
The Society of St. Michael the Archangel Romei is a Private Association of Faithful Church with recognition by the Decree of Canonical Erection of 11 April 2010 in accordance with Can. 322 of Canon Law.
We consider ourselves a full-fledged "Brotherhood", indeed we believe to be the prototype of the Brotherhood of the Third Millennium, the new way of understanding this concept. Let us carry out our mission as he would a real medieval Brotherhood. We want to be proof of the commitment of the laity in the Church's life and at the same time we want to be full members of our local church. For we are a Civil Law Association of Social Promotion.

Romei: This term means those who went to Rome to venerate the tomb of Peter. In Terni passing pilgrims from Northern Europe: Terni was in fact an important step for those who came from Rome along the Via Loreto in Loreto.

St. Michael the Archangel : Prince of the heavenly army and is the one that helps us in the fight against evil. The ancient liturgy of the Mass reminds us of the prayer to St. Michael the Archangel in the reduced form reads: "St. Michael the Archangel defend us in battle, lest we perish in the tremendous trial."

MISSION

The Company's mission is to rediscover and follow the ancient tradition of pilgrimage "because of devotion", especially on the axis of the three main goals of Christianity: Jerusalem - Rome - Santiago.
In doing so we want to be an instrument to bring to God those people whose faith is lukewarm or wavering.
It 'also our intention to organize and carry out at least a year with a pilgrimage on foot from the Basilica of Our Patron Saint Valentine, whose worship we want to help discover by bringing together the various ways in Terni Assisi - Rome, Norcia - Rome, Rome - Loreto to make our city a crossroads for pilgrims. To this end, with God's help, we intend to set up shelters and places of accommodation for pilgrims in Terni.

CHARACTER OF PILGRIMAGE

We distinguish the pilgrimage from a trip taken for pleasure or curiosity. stendardo
The pilgrimage led by the Company has the following characteristics:
♦ if there will only be accompanied by a priest, understood as a spiritual guide indispensable. The Company has a chaplain called "chaplain";
♦ wants to be a reference point and an element of evangelization for those who want to get closer to our Lord. Our live and exist as a company must be an example to convey the gospel message of Christian charity;
♦ wants to be an appropriate time ("kairos") to question the meaning of life, to make a review and open to God's plan on it;
♦ aims to nurture the spiritual dimension of the participants, including through the contemplation of beauty in creation and in art, beyond the purely material dimension of life;
♦ provides an important time to build peace within himself and with others, the slowness of the journey on foot and in sharing with fellow travelers;
♦ offers simplicity in the style of the journey to rediscover what is truly essential in life to bring;
♦ created between the participants a way of sharing and brotherhood: those who wait is slower, stopping beside those who are in difficulty, open to dialogue with those who make a little way with us, to endure hardships together, encourage one another, divide the 'water and food, support those who are left alone ...;

Our evangelical icon to represent the path are the disciples of Emmaus

The first disciples to meet Jesus had taken the wrong course of their Way "... Now that same day two of them were going to a village about seven miles from Jerusalem called Emmaus ... and talking about everything that had happened . While they were talking and discussing together, Jesus himself drew near and went with them. But their eyes were kept from recognizing him ... the way of sadness and disappointment ... We were hoping it was going to redeem Israel, with all that is now the third day since these things have happened ... Some of our friends went to the tomb and found it just as the women had said, but he did not see. "

The disciples because of their insistence charity receiving the gift of seeing the Risen ... As they approached the village where they were going, Jesus acted as if he were going farther. But they urged him strongly, "Stay with us, for it is toward evening and the day is almost over" ... and understand that always walks with them in everyday life when he was at table with them, he took bread, said the blessing, broke it and gave it to them. Then their eyes were opened and they recognized him. But he vanished from their sight.

The disciples after recognizing him ... And they said one to another, "There was burning in the heart, perhaps while he talked to us on the road, while to us the scriptures?". Become witnesses of the Risen Christ ... And they went that instant and returned to Jerusalem ... Then they told what had happened on the way and how he was known in the breaking of the bread. (Luke 24:13-35)

CHARACTERS Hospitality

"Do not forget to entertain strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares"
(Hebrews 13.2)

<I was a stranger and you welcomed me> (Matthew 25:35). Today for us is first and the stranger dramatically marginalized, that is, the stranger, the immigrant, the mentally ill, the gypsy ... Think not to say the reception of pilgrims escape the responsibilities posed by these people, but rather take charge in a broader way than with a direct intervention: forming a culture of acceptance, through the recovery of ancient and simple acts that have been practiced for centuries by many people who have seen the hospitality a sacred gesture.
How to help form a welcoming spirit in ourselves and in our city? We intend to do with God's help:
♦ receiving visitors and guests without making them feel "foreign";
♦ modeled the spirit of our mission of hospitality and charity, well represented by the behavior of the Good Samaritan;
♦ searching wanderer in the face of Christ.

Each brother is committed to spreading the cult of St. Michael the Archangel and witness with their lives in the Gospel parable of the Good Samaritan said (Lk 10, 30-37). "Jesus replied," A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho and fell among robbers who stripped him, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead. And by chance a priest was going down that road, and when I saw him he passed by on the other side. So likewise a Levite, came to the place and saw him, passed on. But a Samaritan, as he journeyed, came next saw him and had compassion. He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring oil and wine, and, on his own beast and brought him to an inn and took care of him. The next day he took out two denarii and gave them, saying: Take care of him and what more you spend, I will repay you on my return. Which of these three do you think was the neighbor unto him that fell among the robbers? ". He answered: "Who has had mercy on him." Jesus said, "Go 'and do' the same."

In it, the goal is to reach as the encounter with the Lord at the end of that journey is our own life, whose real goal is the vision of God's face: <Your face, Lord, I seek> (Psalm 26).
During the journey of our life, the Lord asks us to recognize him and love him in all those they meet, stranger or known to be, as it says in the Gospel of John: <That you love one another as I have loved you> .
